∞When I started doing yoga with Karen I had limited mobility particularly on my left side and I was in constant pain. After doing just one session of therapeutic yoga the transformation of being able to do just normal everyday things was amazing. Continuing with each session has brought about such positive changes in my flexability I do believe that I will continue with yoga for the rest of my life. Karen’s gentle teaching is both inspiring and effective. I truly believe any one learning yoga from Karen will come away with a better understanding of how the different parts of our bodies work together and how incorrect use of our muscles might add to our discomfort. I recommend anyone suffering from any form of bodily pain practise yoga with Karen……Debbie
∞I have been attending Karen’s Awareness in Asana yoga class for a while now after attending other yoga classes for years. What keeps me coming back to Karen’s class, is that she teaches you through yoga how to improve how your body functions. With Karen’s careful guidance and expertise you learn how to strengthen and improve how your body moves especially if you have ongoing issues. The classes are geared to developing and “waking up” muscles to work properly rather than continue to make compensations that lead to developing further issues. After each class, I can’t believe how good I feel regardless of how stiff or sore I was at the beginning. It also makes me feel hopeful and motivated to continue to improve how my body feels and works. Karen is a conscientious, knowledgeable instructor who has a sound understanding of body mechanics, proper body function and the yoga exercises that will enhance, strengthen and awaken your body. I leave each class feeling peaceful, relaxed and my body feels better far better…..Melanie
∞25 years of dental hygiene has taken a toll on my shoulders, neck and back. I have seen Karen for many years to resolve these aches and pains through massage therapy. The last year I have been seeing Karen for Yoga Therapy as well. I find the yoga therapy is helping cure my pain. I suggest if anyone is experiencing these issues they should try yoga therapy. You have nothing to lose and everything to gain….. Karen
∞Had it not been for a minor injury, I might never have found Karen’s therapeutic yoga class. I’m certainly glad that I did! In Karen’s class, I learned about muscles that I didn’t know I had and increased my awareness of how to move without pain. The small group allowed for plenty of individual attention; and Karen’s gentle manner, patience, and expertise made for a very enjoyable and beneficial experience. What I learned in class, I was able to apply in my daily activities. Highly recommended! …. Joan
∞I have been aware of movement restrictions in my body, mostly due to scoliosis, for many years. I have always avoided yoga with a fear of potentially injuring myself. I was referred to Karen’s Therapeutic Yoga class by my massage therapist. Karen creates a safe and nurturing environment. I always feel welcomed and supported in her classes. Discovering the compensation patterns that I have developed over the years and receiving the knowledge and tools to address them has been empowering and transformational……Terri
∞After having back surgery I continued to have back pain, and muscle spasms in my legs. Since introducing Therapeutic yoga into my pain management regime, my body has changed tremendously. My calf muscles are not as tight and I no longer have any back pain. Karen is an excellent instructor with knowledge and understanding of body mechanics. The approach of targeting the hip area has definitely changed the way I walk and stand. I have enjoyed the private sessions that help to make me aware of the importance of moving correctly. I look forward every week to going to class and learning more about how to make my body feel better….Linda
∞Since applying Karen’s teaching and exercises in combination with my other therapies, I am happy to say that I have regained nearly full range of motion, and have very little discomfort. Karen’s teaching helped me develop a better understanding about how the shoulder functions and brought about the changes that I was looking for. I came to realize that the shoulder joints are even impacted by the feet!!! Karen’s depth of knowledge of anatomy and physiology showed how important it is to look after the whole body, and concentrate on good posture and body mechanics to help heal a problem. She helped me to re-aquaint myself with shoulder function and muscles that had forgotten their job. I highly recommend Karen’s Strictly Shoulders Workshop to anyone having challenges with their shoulders….Paula

∞Having been a dental hygienist for 20 years I had developed some repetitive stress issues with my Shoulders, neck and hips. Adding injury to insult with a shoulder injury and also having had knee surgery, I ended up being in a place of pain and dis function. I was not aware that I wasn’t able to even lay flat on a hard surface without restriction. I am amazed at the changes I have had in minimizing pain, freedom of movement and experiencing healthier changes since working with Karen once a week initially. I am now able to continue working more comfortably with keeping up with my continued home practice. I highly recommend trying yoga therapy….Susan
